Welcome to our classroom math wiki!

1) Here you and your team get to make vocabulary words come to life, make sense, and personalize the wiki page in any creative manner.

  • "What's that mean you ask?"

  • Well...Instead of just copying down vocabulary terms and looking up the definitions in a dictionary or the glossary - your team will get to be creative about how to define and display a specific vocab term for our class. You can always go back and improve it...this will be an ongoing task this school year.

2) Announcement postings:

I will post things here (in the announcements) weekly (sometimes daily) for you to check in on as far as tasks or discussion questions that need to be completed. This page will be locked, so I will be the only one allowed to make changes...

3) Today's Goal:

Go to the Classroom Discussion Questions tab on the right. Click on the Netiquette thread. Two video clips are there waiting for you to view and comment on. If time allows, also COMMENT APPROPRIATELY in THE "WHAT DO YOU THINK?" question in the discussion question forum as well. The netiquette thread is due by the end of the class period today. Discuss and share your thoughts on the thread! Welcome to becoming a great digital citizen!

4) Goals and tasks for the week:

  1. Discussion Question 1

  2. Select a term from the vocabulary list

  3. Title a page in the wiki the name of the term

  4. Link your page from the Vital Vocab is Valuable page to your term (and back to the vocab page if you have the hang of it!)

  5. Begin researching the vocabulary term to fulfill the required guidelines (found on the document under Vital Vocab).

  6. Upon finishing a term, I will evaluate you individually with the Technology Skills Rubric (below) and you will evaluate yourself with the self assessment rubric (below). Both are provided for you and your team to take a look at to know what the guidelines are for assessing and grading.
